IDPH Social Marketing 101 Workshop: A hands-on trip down social marketing lane
“Social Marketing 101 Workshop: A hands-on trip down social marketing lane”
• Quality improvement, increased reach on a decreased budget, culturally sensitive practice. These phrases bounce around the Lucas building on a daily basis. What if one public health tool could help you address all of these issues?
• Social marketing is a tool used by public health professionals around the world to ensure their programs, messaging, education and outreach are well-suited to their priority audience. Contrary to popular opinion, social marketing is not just billboards, TV and internet advertizing. Media campaigns are one type of intervention that can stem from using the social marketing process.
• This hands-on workshop will help IDPH staff see how the social marketing process can help them adopt audience-centered practice techniques which lead to more effective and appealing public health programs and interventions.
