Goal, Course Content Part of the Public Health Emergency Training (PHET) Series, this training defines traditional and syndromic surveillance methods and explains how disease outbreaks are detected and investigated. Introduction to Surveillance
This presentation by Dr. David Weber, MD a faculty member in the Departments of Medicine, Pediatrics and Epidemiology in the Schools of Medicine and Public Health at UNC-CH, gives the viewer a basic introduction to surveillance systems. Target Audience These learning modules are applicable to all public health, medical, veterinary, pharmacy, emergency management, hospital and other professionals interested in public health preparedness. These modules are created by faculty and guest lecturers at the UNC-CH School of Public Health and are equivalent to graduate level content.
