Description: Health Reform Law encourages providers to develop innovative community-based partnerships for the delivery of health care services to all populations, with a particular emphasis on the underserved. The time is now for health centers nationwide to explore how they can position themselves to not only take part in these new opportunities, but also to lead the way in establishing successful community partnerships utilizing some "tried and true" approaches as well as some exciting new partnering techniques. In this first part of the 3-part “Community Partnerships 101” webinar series, health centers will learn about some of the key operational issues and challenges they may face in developing and implementing new community partnerships, as well as ways in which they can overcome them to be better prepared to blaze the “collaborative” trail! Topics include dealing with workforce and staffing issues to facilitate success, developing communication plans to disseminate your message when and how you want, and handling the “politics” of collaborations.

Competency: CHCM-T09 Utilize collaboration techniques within the organization and with external partners.
