Establishing a Program Page on Facebook
• The Bureau of Communication and Planning is pleased to offer this training to program coordinators and supervisors who would like to use Facebook as a part of their integrated communications strategy with partners and the public. • The training follows the recent release of the IDPH Social Media Policy (#AD 01-12-002) and supporting documents. • During this training, programs will learn about: 1) the new policy; 2) the pros and cons to operating a Facebook page; 3) guidance on creating a communication strategy and sustainability plan; 4) some basic principles for boosting interaction; 5) tips for handling negative or challenging comments and 6) evaluation tools for measuring the impact of your page. NOTE: • This training is NOT intended for employees who simply wish to establish a professional Facebook profile to participate on Facebook pages for work-related purposes. • For guidance on establishing a professional profile for this purpose, please refer to the appropriate document under “Social Media” on the “Policies” tab of the IDPH Intranet. Storyboards 101: Demonstrating Program Impact through a Creative Display • Join IDPH staff as Lindsay Miller and Lonnie Cleland provide training on the development and structure of Storyboards. • Storyboards are a useful tool in effectively presenting a significant amount of information in a brief period of time. • They can be used to present a team’s work to a variety of audiences and clearly communicate a team’s message. • The training will provide an overview of the following: storyboards and their purpose, development and directions for creating storyboards, and sample storyboard formats. • Attend the training to learn a new, creative way to demonstrate your program’s impact!
